Ten junior high students competed at the JH STATE TMSCA Competition on Saturday, April 13 at the University of Texas at San Antonio. There were over 2300 students there from 150+ middle schools around the state. These students represented Rankin well with many placing in the top 20. Kyden Gee is the State Champion in Calculator Applications leading his team (Hunter Amthor, Chase Gerick and Lalo Eufracio) to a 2nd place team finish. Awards include: 8th Graders: Hunter Amthor - 15th in Number Sense, 13th in Cal Apps, 17th in Math, 2nd Team in Cal Apps Lalo Eufracio - 12th in Cal Apps, 2nd Team in Cal Apps Chase Gerick - 18th in Number Sense, 2nd Team in Cal Apps Austin Hostetter - 18th in Number Sense, 19th in Math 7th Grader: Kyden Gee - 17th in Number Sense, 1st in Cal Apps, 19th in Math, 2nd Team in Cal Apps 6th Graders: Scarlett Dewitt - 6th in Number Sense, 18th in Cal Apps, 7th in Math Gunner Lopez - 13th in Number Sense, 19th in Math Kaysen Anderson - 17th in Math Mrs. Wyatt, Mrs. Gibson and Mrs. Jones have enjoyed working with these students this year and are so proud of the pay off that their hard work received. We look forward to continuing to see these students grow in their love and success of math.

Its Assistant Principal Week and Rankin ISD is blessed with the best! Being an assistant principal is no easy task, but Robin Wilkie and LIsa Williams fill the role with heart and strength. Both have a strong sense of right and wrong and lead students and staff with a steady hand and a caring attitude. Rankin ISD is fortunate to have such dedicated educators who always strive to help our students become their very best!
