Power Outage Update-Based on the limited information we have, it does not look like we will have electricity until well after 10am. We will be canceling school today. We apologize for the inconvenience. Rankin ISD will resume school tomorrow at normal time.

Good morning Rankin ISD- At this time, we are delaying school until 10am due to the electricity being out. Busses will run accordingly, picking up around 9am. I have very little information on when the power will come back on. If we discover that electricity will be off longer than 10am, school will be canceled. I apologize for the inconvenience. Update [ RankinISD] The Iraan and McCamey bust routes will run as normal. Any bus route that goes down 349 will be delayed until further notice. The pick-up line will run as usual. The girls basketball game is canceled and will be rescheduled at a later date. It will not be tomorrow. Thank you

UPDATE!!! At this time, all busses are delayed until further notice. We will hold all students that travel home by bus on campus. We will be communicating with the Sheriffs Department on when certain roads will be opened that are currently closed and when they feel the roads are safe to travel on. In addition, the girls varsity game in Marathon is delayed until 7PM, but there is a strong chance of it being canceled. and rescheduled for tomorrow. Rankin ISD-Low Visibility due to Winds! We are aware of the accidents on 349 and parts of 349 and other roads currently shutdown. We will continue to monitor the weather and the road closures. We are hoping everyone is safe and that the visibility issues are only temporary. We are also doing our own test drive down 349 in a school bus. If needed, we will delay busses at dismissal until it is safe for school busses to travel. At this time, we have not decided to delay busses. We will update you as soon as we can.
