Prior to spring break, students participating in Junior High TMSCA have been hard at work. These students have attended qualifying meets in Pecos and Crane in addition to the regional meet in Abilene. In order to qualify for the state competition, students must hit a qualifying score based on their grade level and events that consist of Number Sense, Calculator Applications and Mathematics. Between the 3 qualifying meets we attended, 10 students qualified for the state competition. In addition to these students qualifying for state, many awards, ranging from 1st to 10th, place have been received. The following students have qualified for the state competition in at least 1 event:

Kyden Gee - Number Sense, Calculator Applications, Mathematics
Kaysen Anderson - Number Sense, Calculator Applications
Scarlett Dewitt - Number Sense, Calculator Applications, Mathematics
Gunner Lopez - Number Sense, Calculator Applications
These students will compete at the University of Texas in San Antonio on April 13. We are very proud of the commitment and hard work these students have put in to achieve this goal and we look forward to seeing them continue to succeed.

The Rankin ISD Board of Trustees is excited to announce the Lone Finalist for Superintendent as Mr. Shaye Murphy. Mr. Murphy currently serves at Gunter ISD in the Chief Administrative Officer (assistant Superintendent) role. He was raised in Slaton, TX and has 22 years of experience in education with 17 of those being in leadership positions. Mr. Murphy brings a wealth of experience in financial management and instructional leadership, as well as a focus on community and building relationships. We look forward to formally welcoming him not only to Rankin ISD, but to the Rankin community as a whole.
