Good afternoon Red Devils! Due to the increase in positive cases that has recently impacted our school, the Upton County Health Advisory Committee met to recommend what is best for the district from a clinical standpoint. The decision was unanimous and had heavy input from health officials. In the end, the plan was developed in an attempt to limit the burden on parents and students while protecting them at the same time. The plan is as follows: The last day of instruction at Rankin ISD will be today. Students will return to school as normal on Tuesday, January 5th. Remote instruction and/or packets will not occur for the remainder of the semester. The completion of the semester will be pushed back so students can complete their work in the same time frame. Health officials and Rankin ISD encourage everyone to continue to wear their masks over the break and to take every health precaution possible to help limit the spread of COVID-19. We wish everyone well over the Christmas break and look forward to seeing our students in January. Have a blessed day, let your light shine and remember… WE ARE RED DEVILS.

Gossett Elementary Christmas Program Information Parents of Pre-K-4th Grade Student: This year Gossett Elementary will be performing a small Christmas program to help celebrate this wonderful holiday! This has been an unprecedented year with a lot of crazy circumstances to work through. Due to some of the circumstances surrounding remote learning, we will not be performing our annual musical we had planned, but will be doing more of a choral-type concert of sorts. Your child should wear something red, green, white, or Christmasy for the program. Our Annual Gossett Elementary Christmas Program will be Thursday, December 17th at 2:45 pm in the Rankin ISD Auditorium. Please be advised that the following protocols must be followed if you are in attendance. All audience members must wear their mask at all times (even when seated) during the program. All audience members must maintain social distancing at a minimum of 6 ft. All audience members will be required to have their temperature checked before entry. All audience members over the age of 4 years old will be required to have a ticket for entry. Each child will be sent home with only two tickets to be used for the program. If you are not going to use your tickets, please give Mr. Riker or myself a call so we know to be on the lookout for them. We will be broadcasting the program live on the Red Devil Sports Network website and app. If you feel more comfortable watching from home or have other family members out of town that would like to watch, please join us online! The kids have been working so hard to put this wonderful little program together for all of you. We have some awesome things planned and we sincerely hope that you all enjoy it! If you have any questions regarding the program, tickets, or COVID-19 protocols please contact Mr. Riker or myself and we would be happy to answer them for you! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Rankin ISD will continue with remote learning through Wednesday, December 9th. On that date, the Health Advisory Committee will meet again to determine whether or not the spike associated with the Thanksgiving holiday is increasing, levelling off or decreasing and to recommend if a full-time return to school is in the best interest of the students and community. The current plan is for students to return to campus on a full-time basis on Thursday, December 10. This decision can be impacted by the meeting on December 9th, but, again, the hope is to have everyone back in the building by the 10th. Extracurricular activities will still continue to practice and compete. Much thought and discussion regarding this decision took place. The staff is taking extra precautions in terms of monitoring, distancing and disinfecting to ensure our staff and students remain safe. Should anyone have any questions or would like to discuss the plan you are encouraged and welcomed to contact your campus office or the business office
