Colorado city is no longer an option for the girls basketball game, however Lakeview has opened back up. The game will start tomorrow, Friday February 19th at 6 PM and doors will open at 5:30 PM. Rankin is the visiting team. Bring bottled water because San Angelo is on a boil water notice.

Due to possible electrical issues, uncertain weather conditions and no water available, Rankin ISD has decided to cancel school on Thursday, February 18 and Friday, February 19.
Roads should be clear enough in the afternoon on Friday to travel to Colorado City. The girls playoff game Friday is still scheduled for Friday evening in Colorado City--time has yet to be determined. However, this could change.

The girls area playoff game will take place on Friday, February 19th, at Colorado City. The time is yet to be determined. Tickets can be reserved by emailing Mr. Gallardo at agallardo@rankinisd.net. You can pick them up on Friday from 11:00-3:00.
Due to the weather conditions and electrical outages Rankin ISD will be closed on Wednesday, February 17th and Thursday, February 18th.
School will resume in person Friday, February 19th from 11am - 3 pm, buses will depart Rankin at 9am to pick up bus students.

Rankin ISD has made the decision to close school tomorrow February 16th. Due to the lack of electricity and AT&T access it would difficult to go to school remotely.

Rankin ISD will be sending buses home at 9:30 am today. Chris Fox will escort the buses for safety.
Rankin ISD will be dismissing school at noon today. The basketball game vs Comstock scheduled for tonight has been canceled.
Monday--Virtual school from 10 am - 2 pm (The workday will be from 9:30 am - 2:30 pm). Any non-faculty can work this day if they choose. Any non-faculty that does not work will have to make up the day at another time. If it is unsafe, please stay home. All students will work from home remotely. If a student does not have a hot spot, teachers will assign alternative lessons on a case-by-case basis (each campus will handle this following the guidance of their principal).
Tuesday--It is very possible we will have a late start on Tuesday, February 16th. Tuesday afternoon it is supposed to clear up. Right now are game at Lakeview in San Angelo is still on (6 pm Lady Devils vs Robert Lee). There are 220 total tickets for this game. If you need one they can be reserved Monday from 10 am - 2 pm. You can call the school in to reserve your ticket Monday or Tuesday of next week. If you have questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Remember stay safe when driving or even walking around-- it is icy and getting worse.
Today is Friday, February 12. We have a few announcements about the weather.
School Buses will run at 9:30 am this morning. All other students will be released at 12 noon. Tonight’s game vs Comstock has been canceled.
Monday, February 15th students will attend school virtually from 10 am – 2 pm. High School students will attend 6th -9th periods with small breaks built in. You will receive an email before Monday with your times. Pre-K thru 3rd grade student will receive packets to take home. 4th and 5th grade students will receive packets and be required to attend classes via Blackboard. Students on both campuses who do not have internet access will should receive an alternate assignment.

Roads towards Midland are somewhat dry.
Visibility is fair.
Very little signs of ice but there are a few patches.
Roads are very similar to yesterday morning.
Be careful and drive cautiously—Rankin ISD will have a regular start time this morning. Buses will run on time this morning as well.
If you live closer to Midland be extra careful.

Rankin ISD will release students from school at their normal time today 2/11 when temperatures are at their peak.
According to our forecast, Rankin will be 36 degrees and Midkiff will be 34 degrees between 3:45 and 5 pm. This will be the safest time for our buses to travel.
