Mrs. Epperson's First Grade Reading classes are learning about "Similar Stories from Different Lands". So far this week, they have read "Cinderella" from France, "The Girl with the Red Slippers" from Egypt, and "Billy Beg" from Ireland, and made Venn Diagrams comparing and contrasting the stories.
Today, first graders learned about the art of productive talk. Their Think and Share question had the students talking about what they thought the main characters in each story would do next. Mrs. Epperson is very proud of their effort and creativity.

8th grade placed 2nd in the Big Spring JH tournament for the 8A bracket. They played the toughest competition we’d seen so far, and responded well. We learned a lot in a quick amount of time, and I’m proud to see how much they continue to grow. We will take on the Odessa Warriors this Thursday at home.
Mrs. Jones’s College Algebra class went on a Composite Function scavenger hunt. Students were given the opportunity to self-monitor and self-correct and provided explanations using verbal and written communication that was clear and correct. The winning team, Dash David and Fred Richardson, received a 5 point pass to be used on any College Algebra test this semester.
