Eighteen high school students competed in the TMSCA State Competition on Saturday, March 23 at the University of Texas at San Antonio. There were around 1000 students there from 90+ high schools around the state. These students represented Rankin well and earned some nice awards consisting of:
Morgan Tubbs - 2nd in 12th Grade Calculator Applications, 7th in 12th grade Mathematics
JJ Caudle - 4th in 12th Grade Calculator Applications, 9th in 12th grade Mathematics
Dash Davis - 10th in 11th Grade Number Sense
Monse Presas - 5th in 11th Grade Science
Lathin Langley - 6th in 10th Grade Mathematics
Ayame Jackson - 2nd in 10th Grade Science
Issac Armendarez - 6th in 10th Grade Science
Kyina Gee - 1st in 9th Grade Calculator Applications
Matthew Ramos - 3rd in 9th Grade Science
Kyina Gee is a back to back state champion
in Calculator Applications and we would like to recognize her hard work and dedication to success. Overall, the Science Team placed 3rd, Calculator Applications placed 5th and Mathematics placed 4th. Mrs. Wyatt, Mrs. Gibson, Ms. Hamlin and Mrs. Jones are very proud of all of these students and are excited to continue working with them in preparation for District UIL on April 5th.
