This means that some of our staff at Rankin ISD are armed and trained to protect our students.  Guardians in the district could be any school personnel member.  Each school guardian has gone through a three-day extensive firearm training, law enforcement psychological exam, and has been approved by the school board.  Rankin ISD has taken every measure to make sure that each guardian has been trained to safely carry a firearm on school grounds during the school day and at school-related events.  The intent of this program is to keep our students safe at all times while they are at school.

Attached are the policy concerning The Guardian Program.

If you have any questions or concerns, please call Mr. Wyatt, Rankin ISD Superintendent, at 432-693-2461.
